Turkey-Israel relations: In the war between Hamas and Israel, the double face of Turkey, which supports Hamas and claims to be the Messiah of Muslim countries, has come to light.
A Turkish trade report has revealed that Turkey has sold weapons to Israel in the war between Israel and Hamas. According to a media report, in January Turkey sold goods worth $319 million to Israel, which included precious metals, chemicals, pesticides, nuclear reactor parts, explosives, aircraft parts, weapons and ammunition.
The companies selling these goods are affiliated with the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association of Turkey. Interestingly, this organization is a staunch supporter of Turkish President Erdogan. Because of this, there has been a stir in Turkey after the information about selling goods to Israel came to light.
Supporters of Palestine have described the business of Turkish companies as stabbing the Palestinian people in the back and people are venting their anger against Turkey and Erdogan on social media.
After the increasing rhetoric of Palestine supporters on social media, Turkey has said that we have always been supporters of Palestine. Türkiye cannot participate in any anti-Palestinian campaign. No military or defense industry deals have been made with Israel. The items sold to Israel in alleged media reports are not weapons or ammunition, but spare parts for rifles used for sporting or hunting activities and fishing products.
However, a Turkish fact check social media account says the Turkish government's claim is false. It is true that ammunition has been sold to Israel in the first three months of 2024 and we have also investigated it.
