TSPC militant carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh surrenders in Ranchi

Ranchi, 01 March (HS). Militant Santosh Ganjhu of the banned militant organization Third Conference Presentation Committee (TSPC), carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, surrendered before Ranchi SSP Chandan Sinha on Friday. The SSP gave him a check of Rs 1 lakh on the spot. After surrendering he was sent to judicial custody.

Santosh Ganjhu surrendered under the influence of the surrender policy of the state government and the efforts of CRPF 133 Battalion and Ranchi Police. Two cases of CLA and Arms Act are registered against him in Ormanjhi police station. He is a resident of Siram village of Budhmu police station area.

Santosh Ganjhu said in the conversation that in the year 2013, TSPC sub-zonal commander Sagar Ganjhu alias Dalal Ganjhu alias Lalindra Ganjhu village held a meeting in the adjacent village Salaya Tod. Sagar Ganjhu was pressurizing the youth to join the organization to expand the organization and strengthen the squad. Under this pressure, he joined Sagar Ganjhu's organization. After joining the organization, he visited many villages to expand the organization.

As soon as the organization expanded, in the month of May 2015, along with the members of the organization, they went and opened fire on the laborers working on laying the railway line near Ganja of Ormanjhi police station to pressurize them for the levy. In the year 2015 itself, to collect the levy money from the owner of Keshar running in Ichadag, Piska, Halwadi and Naya Toli, the people of the organization had beaten up the scribe, laborer and guard of Keshar.

Sagar ji alias Dalal, Manish Mahato, Gopal alias Nirbhay ji, Taralal Gop, Manilal Mahato, Umesh Mahato, Bhola Mahato, Kishan Ganjhu, Mukesh Mahato, Aman Sahu etc. were involved in both these incidents. After this, after staying in the organization for three years, he married Sabita Kumari, a resident of village Murpiri police station, Mudmu district, Ranchi, and went to Rajasthan. He started working as a laborer in Redu (chicken farm) at a place called Jhunjhan in Rajasthan.

Several times the house was confiscated by different police stations, information about which was received through social workers of the village. After this, he was thinking of surrendering before the police, when in the meanwhile he came to know about the new direction of surrender policy of the government through CRPF officials, SSP and special messenger of Ranchi Rural SP. After discussions with family members and village people he surrendered.
