What did the Supreme Court say?
In the NEET paper leak case, the Supreme Court has ruled that it is not a failure of the system. The impact of the paper leak is limited to Hazaribagh and Patna. We have removed the structural deficiencies. The court said that it is the responsibility of the government and NTA to ensure the identity of the candidates appearing in the exam and to prepare an SOP for storage to prevent paper leak.
The court gave this advice to NTA
During the hearing, the court asked NTA to change the way it conducts the exam. The court said that the agency should ensure strict scrutiny from the preparation of the question paper till the end of the exam. SOP should be made to check the management of question papers etc. Instead of open e-rickshaws, closed vehicles with real-time locks should be used to carry papers. Apart from this, privacy laws should also be kept in mind so that any kind of irregularity can be caught. Make arrangements for electronic fingerprint recording and cyber security to protect data.
Not enough evidence of paper leak: Supreme Court
The paper leak case was limited to Patna and Hazaribagh only. Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered that the exam will not be conducted again. The court said that there is not enough evidence that the sanctity of the exam has been violated. The NEET UG exam was conducted on May 5. After this, the result was declared on June 4. After the result, many students filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the irregularities in the exam.
