A truck loaded with apples suddenly caught fire at Adda Taragarh near Batala, the driver and the cleaner narrowly escaped, while the truck was burnt to ashes. Giving this information, truck driver Dhyan Singh, son of Pal Singh, cleaner Ramandeep Singh, resident of Wadala Bangar, Told that they were going from Srinagar to Rajasthan after loading apples in their truck PB 06BF 88 58. Today at around 9.30 am when the base reached Taragarh, suddenly the truck caught fire. Suddenly the cabin caught fire so fast that he immediately jumped to save his life and Rs 2.5 lakh in cash, mobile phone and other documents kept in the car got burnt.
On this occasion, Inspector Prabhjot Singh, Police Station Chief Lal Singh reached the spot along with the police party and controlled the fire with the help of fire brigade. Passersby took out the apple boxes from the truck with the help of the police, but still many boxes were burnt and there was a lot of damage.
