According to the Meteorological Department, due to the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal and the activation of the local trough line, a cloud of dark clouds has gathered in the sky of Patna. Meteorologists have warned that along with rain, there is also a big risk of strong storm and lightning strike. The IMD has appealed to people not to come out of their homes unless for urgent work for the next few hours and to maintain distance especially from concrete roofs, tall trees and electric poles during inclement weather.
Fear of water logging in low lying areas, Municipal Corporation administration alerted
Local disaster management and city Met officials say: “After intermittent rains in Patna for the past few days, this fresh 2-hour spell of torrential rains may cause waterlogging in low-lying parts of the city like Kankarbagh, Karkuan, Boring Road, Khajpura, Mithapur and some pockets of Colonelganj. Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been directed to keep the drainage pumping stations running at full capacity so that the waterlogging situation is dealt with immediately. Could.”
