Tribute paid to martyred soldiers in Adani Power Plant complex


Godda, 15th April (HS). National Fire Service Day was celebrated at Adani Power Plant premises. During this, fire fighters demonstrated a mock drill in the fire station building located at the power plant. On Monday, tributes were paid to the martyred soldiers by remembering them in the presence of fire fighters and Adani Power officials. The program was started by Adani Power Plant Station Head Ramesh Jha by laying a wreath remembering the martyrs. After that, one by one all the officers paid their tribute by offering flowers.

Randhir Kumar, Head of Safety Department of Adani Power Plant, said that 66 firefighters of the fire brigade, while extinguishing the fire, demonstrated courage and bravery in controlling the fire that broke out on the cargo ship Fort Steeken at Mumbai port on April 14, 1944. He had attained martyrdom after coming under wraps. Fire Day is celebrated every year on 14 April in the memory of these brave fire fighters. An awareness program celebrating Fire Safety Week will be organized by the fire brigade from April 14 to April 19 at the Adani Power Plant complex.
