Tribute paid to martyred inspector Praveen Kumar on the ninth martyrdom day, demand raised for gallantry award

Araria 14 July (HS). A ceremony was organized in the premises of Bhargama police station of the district on Sunday to pay tribute to martyred sub-inspector Praveen Kumar on his ninth martyrdom day. People present in the organized ceremony again raised the demand of giving gallantry award to martyr Praveen Kumar.

During the ceremony, the speakers said that on 14 July 2015, the then Thanedaar of Bhargama, Praveen Kumar, was martyred in an encounter with criminals in Belsara village of Raniganj. During that time, there was a demand to give the gallantry award, which is given to honour the extraordinary dedication and indomitable courage of the personnel, to the martyr, but till now the gallantry award has not been given.

Before this, the police, public and dignitaries paid heartfelt homage to the martyred inspector by observing two minutes of silence. In the Martyrdom Day ceremony, floral tributes were paid to the statue of the then martyred inspector of the police station and his valor was saluted. During the ceremony, Police Station in-charge Manish Kumar, SI Rajnarayan Yadav, Sifat Yadav, Dharmnath Rai, Chandraprakash Kumar, Akhilesh Kumar, Pramod Narayan Singh, Vipasa Kumari, Subhash Singh along with BJP leader Ashok Kumar Singh and the martyr's father Dayanand Singh, resident of Bhauwara of Madhubani district also paid homage to the martyr's martyrdom.

Besides the martyred inspector's 12-year-old son Aditya, BJP leaders Ashok Singh, Deepak Kumar Munna, Nityanand Mehta, Ramesh Bharti, Rakesh Ranjan Parihar, Munna Mehta and other eminent personalities and police personnel were present at the programme organised on the occasion.
