Jammu, 1 April (HIST). BJP OBC Morcha under the leadership of its President Sunil Prajapati paid tribute to Martyr Prajapati Ram Chander Vidyarthi on his birth anniversary, who laid down his life for the nation while flying the Indian flag on 14 August 1942 at the age of 13 years and 4 months. The Taj flag was changed in the office of the District Magistrate to intensify the freedom struggle against the British government as a part of the Quit India Movement.
Pawan Khajuria, Vice President, Jammu and Kashmir BJP said that Ram Chander Vidyarthi was born on 01 April 1929 to Babulal Prajapati and Mata Motirani in village Nautan Hathiagadh in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh. He had developed a strong passion for the freedom movement while studying in seventh grade. Mahatma Gandhi had announced the Quit India Movement on 08 August 1942. People of Deoria district also participated enthusiastically in the Quit India Movement. Ram Chander Vidyarthi, who was in 7th class, showed great anger against the British rule and along with his three colleagues reached the district headquarters on 14 August 1942 and hoisted the Indian flag on the top of the District Magistrate's office. When after the warning, the British Army started firing in which to make the Quit India Movement successful, Ram Chander Vidyarthi along with his three companions were martyred for the country. Ram Chander Vidyarthi was the only person in history who sacrificed his life for the nation at the young age of 13 years.
