‘Tribal Science Festival’ will be organized every year: Chief Minister Dhami

Dehradun, 15 November (HS). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced to organize ‘Tribal Science Festival’ every year in the program on Friday. During this, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, work is being done to make the tribal and tribal societies strong and self-reliant.

On Friday evening, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Adi Gaurav Mahotsav’ program organized by the State Tribal Research Institute at ONGC Stadium, Kaulagarh Road. On this occasion, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Birsa Munda by offering floral tributes to his statue. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to organize ‘Tribal Science Festival’ every year to encourage tribal talents in the field of science. For which funds will be made available to Uttarakhand Tribal Research Institute as per requirement.

The Chief Minister met the people of tribal community from different states at the Adi Gaurav Mahotsav and learned about their culture. Artists from different tribes participating from across the country presented folk dances. The Chief Minister also visited various stalls set up by the tribal community and also participated in the folk dance of the tribal community.

The Chief Minister said that this program will provide an opportunity to the tribal artists to showcase their talent and also make the non-tribal community aware of the characteristics of the art and culture of the tribal society. He said that Lord Birsa Munda did something in his lifetime of just 24 years and 07 months, which will be remembered for eternity. Birsa Munda’s contribution to the Indian independence movement is incomparable. He organized the tribal society by spreading awareness against the evils prevalent in the tribal society.

The Chief Minister said that the elevation of Draupadi Murmu, who comes from the tribal community, to the post of President is a symbol of the Central Government’s true commitment towards the empowerment of the tribal community. The Prime Minister has worked to develop and empower this society by increasing the budget for the development of tribal society three times.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has done the historic work of increasing the budget of Eklavya Model School by 21 times. Under the Pradhan Mantri Tribal Unnat Gram Abhiyan, 128 tribal villages of Uttarakhand have been selected. Development of basic facilities, economic empowerment, better education system and healthy life will be promoted in these selected villages. The state government is also working towards improving the standard of living of the tribal and tribal communities of the state by providing them many facilities.

The Chief Minister said that 04 Eklavya Model Residential Schools are running in Uttarakhand. In which students of tribal community get free education and hostel facilities. Scholarships are being provided to the children of tribal society from primary level to postgraduate level. A grant of Rs 50 thousand is being provided for the marriage of Scheduled Tribe daughters. He said that the state government will always work with determination for the development of the tribal society in Uttarakhand.

On this occasion, MLA Savita Kapoor, Secretary Neeraj Khairwal, Additional Secretary Sanjay Singh Tolia and others were present.
