Tribal community needs to save its culture and tradition: AK Singh

Khunti, March 14 (Hindustan Reporter) A district level tribal gathering was organized by the Leeds organization at its resource centre, Perka Murhu, on Thursday. Lord Birsa Munda's descendant Sukhram Munda and senior journalist Madhukar were present as special guests in the program.

Addressing the program, LEADS Director AK Singh said that the traditional heritage of tribals in Jharkhand is very rich. To celebrate this heritage, the organization has organized a tribal gathering today. Through this gathering, an attempt has been made to convey the message that in the present times the tribal community should come forward to preserve their tradition and culture and keep the coming generations connected to it.

Efforts are being made by LEADS to rejuvenate tribal traditions and practices to preserve and promote the values ​​of tribal society. Senior journalist Madhukar ji said that tribals are the original inhabitants of this state. The tribal community should not forget its culture, values ​​and principles and should tell about it to the coming generation.

He said that education is the best way to bring change and we can bring change in the society only when we change our thinking. Sukhram Munda, a descendant of Birsa Munda, said that today due to urbanization, tribals are also moving towards cities and are gradually forgetting their language and cultural traditions. Our children should not forget our tradition and culture. Parents will have to take initiative, because children follow their parents.

He said that efforts have to be made to remove the wrong things which are slowly creeping into the society. Cultural programs like Karam dance, Jadur dance, Geene dance, Paika dance, tribal folk songs etc. were also organized in the tribal gathering. Kooda Panchayat head Amar Mundu, Indipidhi Panchayat head Sukhram Sarukad, Fagua Pahan, Jabra Munda, Leads program manager Neerja Rath, Ashutosh Jaiswal, Shanta etc. participated as guests in the program.
