The Indian stock market has started with a bang. Both Sensex and Nifty managed to open with a gain of more than 1 percent. Bank Nifty opened at 50612 with a strong gain of 455 points i.e. 0.91 percent. The IT index has gained a massive 2 percent and is up more than 750 points. Ola Electric Mobility's IPO listing will also take place at 10 am and despite its below zero GMP, strong stock market trading could lead to a great listing.
At what level did the stock market open?
The BSE Sensex opened at 79,984.24 with a gain of 1098 points or 1.39 per cent. The NSE Nifty opened at 24,386 with a massive gain of 269.85 points or 1.12 per cent.
How was the market in pre-opening?
Before the stock market opened, the BSE Sensex was trading at 79927, up 1040.78 points or 1.32 percent. The NSE Nifty was trading at 24336 with a strong gain of 219.05 points or 0.91 percent.
Sensex in green colour
All the 30 BSE Sensex stocks are in the green zone of gains and not a single stock is in the red. Among the top 5 Sensex stocks, the first three are from the IT index, of which Tech Mahindra closed with the highest gain of 2.12 per cent. Infosys and HCL Tech are far behind and are up by about 2 per cent.
