On World Environment Day, a tree plantation program was organized on Wednesday at Dhantoli Tok near Badrinath Dham under the joint aegis of Alaknanda Land Conservation Forest Division, Nanda Devi National Park, Rural Development Department and Gram Panchayat Manna. In the program, a message to save the environment was given to the country and the world.
An awareness ceremony was organized before the program, while addressing which the chief guest of the program, DFO of Nanda Devi National Park BV Martolia said that Uttarakhand has been aware of the environment for centuries. Here Harela festival is celebrated as a festival in every village, which has now been given a grand form at the government level as well. He also planted trees during this time.
Sarvesh Kumar Dubey, DFO of Alaknanda Land Conservation Forest Division and Badrinath Forest Division, said that Uttarakhand is also not untouched by the effects of global warming. If the glaciers continue to melt, then the coming generations will also be in danger. He said that on Environment Day, along with planting trees, we will also have to pledge to save them.
Village Mana's Pradhan Pitambar Singh Molpa said that in the country's first village Mana, tree plantation and other programs have been organized on World Environment Day, but in Badrinath-Mana area, Nepali labourers are exploiting nature. He also accused the country's first village Mana of being neglected in the Namami Gange project.
