Training of policemen and polling personnel in view of Lok Sabha elections

Ranchi, March 3 (HS). In view of the Lok Sabha elections, preparations have now started to bring Jharkhand Police into election mode. Police Headquarters has ordered all zonal IGs, range DIGs and SPs of all districts to be ready for the elections. For election related training, a training program was organized on Sunday for all zonal IGs, range DIGs and SSPs and SPs of the districts.

Lok Sabha elections are to be conducted in a clean, fair, fear-free and peaceful environment. For this, emphasis was laid on training as per the manual issued by the Election Commission of India, New Delhi. The soldiers deputed for the Lok Sabha elections were informed about the strategy ranging from security of polling personnel to booth monitoring. They were also told about security of voting material, ways to deal with anti-social elements and miscreants. They were also told how to deal with people who do not cause inconvenience to voters, who do not deprive them of voting and who pressure them to vote in their favor.

Special training is going on for the Lok Sabha elections. During this time, the situation of law and order, how to conduct voting especially in Naxalite areas, what kind of disturbances were faced during the elections in the past, which Naxalite groups are active in which areas and how to deal with them, the Election Commission has given this information. Instructions have been given in this regard. Jharkhand Police's IG Campaign cum State Police's Nodal Officer Amol Homkar told all this in detail to the police officers in the training session.

Jharkhand Police IG Special Branch Prabhat Kumar is the nodal officer for VIP security during the Lok Sabha elections. During the Lok Sabha elections, there will be movement from the Prime Minister to many VIPs and star campaigners. In such a situation, information about the kind of protocol to be followed in VIP security has also been given to the officers in the training session.
