The DRM has announced to reward both the drivers.
Where did the incident happen?
Suddenly air pressure started leaking from the unloader valve of the loco engine on bridge number 382 between Valmikinagar and Paniyava stations of Samastipur, due to which the train stopped in the middle of the bridge. There was no way to reach the place where the leakage was taking place. For this, the pilot and assistant risked their lives and reached under the train to fix the leakage.
Engine leakage fixed after trouble
After a lot of effort, the air pressure leakage of the unloader valve from the engine was fixed. People came out of the bridge by piloting from under the train. Their video has also surfaced. After this the train moved forward. Seeing the courageous act of the drivers, DRM Vinay Srivastava of Samastipur Railway Division has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 each and a citation to both the drivers.
Let us tell you that when train number 05497 Up Narkatiaganj reached bridge number 382 between Gorakhpur Valmiki Nagar and Paniyava, suddenly air pressure started leaking from the unloader valve of the engine (loco). Due to which the pressure of MR decreased and the train stopped on the intermediate bridge. After the train stopped on the bridge, it was very difficult to repair it. Loco pilot Ajay Kumar Yadav and co-pilot Narkatiaganj Ranjit Kumar reached the leakage site from the engine by hanging and crawling on the bridge. After this they managed to stop the leakage and then the train proceeded towards its destination station.
