Train accident: Sabarmati-Agra superfast collides with goods train, 4 coaches derail

Sabarmati-Agra train derails: On Monday (March 18), four coaches of Sabarmati-Agra Superfast derailed in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Many passengers have been injured in this accident. The accident happened at Madar railway station at 1.04 pm. When Sabarmati-Agra Kent Superfast Express collided with a goods train. According to railway officials, the loco pilot also applied emergency brakes to stop the train, but could not stop the collision.

According to officials, four coaches of the general coach along with the engine derailed due to the collision with the goods train. As soon as information about the accident was received, the rescue team reached the spot and the injured were admitted to the hospital. There is no information about any death in this incident. Some passengers said that he was injured. The injured have been taken to Ajmer station for treatment. The passengers told that they were sleeping when suddenly they heard a loud noise. Then the coach derailed.

Rescue teams including security personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) and senior officers are at the spot where the coach tampering was observed. The derailed coach and engine were found on the tracks. But efforts are underway to bring it. A video has also surfaced after the incident, in which it can be seen that the derailed bogie is being investigated. Due to the collision, some railway pillars have also fallen on top of the train, which are being cut with the help of gas cutters.

Railways announced helpline number for help
On the other hand, North Western Railways has said that helpline numbers have been issued to help the passengers. It has been said from their side that there has been no loss of life or property in this accident. North Western Railways tweeted on the social media platform that 'Today on 18.03.2024 at 01.04 hrs, Train No. 12548, Sabarmati-Agra Cantt derailed near Home Signal at Madar near Ajmer, due to which the engine and four general coaches derailed. Derailed.

Railways further said that there were no casualties. After quick action by the Railways, Railway officials have reached the accident site. The accident relief vehicle has reached Madar and track restoration work is going on. The rear part of this vehicle is being taken to Ajmer. A help desk has been set up at Ajmer station by the Railways and the helpline number 0145-2429642 has been announced.
