Tragic accident on Kalanur-Batala road! An elderly woman was crushed by a speeding car while crossing the road, died on the spot

Kalanur: On Monday, a speeding car crushed a woman crossing the road at Adda Kot Miyan Sahib on Kalanaur-Batala Road, due to which she died on the spot. In this regard, Manpreet Kaur, daughter-in-law of the deceased woman Vijay Kanta (65), told that when her mother-in-law had shoulder pain, she had gone with her daughter Sahajpreet Kaur to get medicine. After this, when he got down from the bus at Kot Miyan Sahib bus stand to go to his village, he was crossing the road when suddenly a speeding white car coming from Batala Road hit his mother-in-law Vijay Kanta.

He told that the speeding vehicle completely crushed his mother-in-law, due to which apart from breaking her legs and arms, she suffered serious head injuries and she died on the spot. On hearing the news, SHO IPS Dilpreet Singh posted at Kalanaur police station reached the spot. In this regard, Kalanaur police station has taken the body of the deceased woman in its custody and sent it to Civil Hospital Gurdaspur for post-mortem and has started further police action. Let us tell you here that mother Vijay Kanta's only son had gone to Singapore for livelihood and Vijay Kanta was living with his daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
