Fatehpur, 26 September (HS). About 300 traders and shopkeepers of Jahanabad town of the district closed their shops on Thursday and said that the heirs of the old landlord and their henchmen are harassing them daily with the help of fake documents in connivance with the local police and revenue employees. Troubled by this harassment, the traders have sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister and appealed for justice. Along with this, they have also reached the Collectorate and given a memorandum to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, complaining about the harassment by the local employees and demanding an investigation into the entire matter.
The traders and shopkeepers of Lalu Bazaar in Jehanabad town closed their establishments in protest against harassment by an influential family and met the district magistrate and submitted a memorandum seeking justice.
Regarding the shops located in Lalu Ganj of the town, the influential family of the town is harassing the shopkeepers and traders in every way by claiming the populated area as their own. Since this family has connections with top officials, taking advantage of the same, they are trying to exploit the shopkeepers through their henchmen as per the status of the Zamindari system even today. Under the leadership of National General Secretary of Rashtriya Jan Udyog Vyapar Mandal, Govind Babu Tata, around three hundred traders closed their establishments and met the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and submitted a memorandum in protest against the harassment. Along with it, they appealed for justice by forming an inquiry committee and demanding that the investigation be conducted by the Additional District Magistrate.
