Jaipur, September 21 (HS). A case of cheating a businessman from Hisar in Haryana of Rs 17 lakh in the name of providing cheap gold has come to light in Sadar police station area. In this regard, the victim has lodged a case in the police station.

Investigating officer SI Abhishek Swami said that the victim businessman Mahendra Kumar has lodged a case in the police station that the accused Manoj Kumar is an acquaintance and he told him that he brings gold from abroad and then sells it at cheap rates. He will also give him gold at a cheap rate of Rs 5,000 per ten grams. The victim got trapped in his words. The accused Manoj Kumar called the victim Mahendra to a hotel at Jaipur railway station. Here the accused took five lakh rupees in cash from the victim and said that he will soon return from abroad (Dubai) and bring him the gold.

After going abroad, the accused called the victim and got Rs. 7 lakhs transferred to his account on different occasions. The accused kept asking for money by repeatedly promising to bring the gold soon. After this, the accused Manoj Kumar called the victim Mahendra to a hotel in Hisar. Where he took Rs. 5 lakh from him and agreed to bring the gold in two days. In this way, the accused took Rs. 17 lakhs for gold on different occasions in the name of providing gold at a cheaper rate. He refused to give the money and gold. Also, after taking the money, the accused stopped picking up the victim's phone. The accused is now threatening the victim that if he complains to anyone, he will get him killed. The victim lodged a case against the accused in the police station in this regard.
