Ajmer, 21 September (HS). Shri Pushkar cattle fair will start from November 2. For this, hotels, homestays and guest houses in Pushkar have already started getting booked. European tourists are booking big hotels and resorts. Tour and travel companies are offering packages for the fair, which include everything from flight booking to hotel resorts, food etc.

In the 15-day fair, tourists from more than 60 countries including America, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Africa, Japan, Korea, UAE, Thailand, Singapore come to see the feats of the desert ship camel and horses. There will be many camel and horse competitions during the fair. Tour and Travels, local market, hotel resorts, restaurants, cattle breeders etc. earn crores of rupees from the fair. Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Sunil Ghiya said that Shri Pushkar Animal Fair will be held from November 2 Kartik Shukla Ekam to November 17 Margashirsha Krishnaduj. The fair office will be set up on November 2. The posts will be set up on November 4. The fair will gain momentum with the flag hoisting on November 9. On the same day, white chitti and from November 10, the cattle breeders' Ravana will start being cut. Vikas and Gir exhibition will be held on November 12. Cultural programs will be held daily from November 9 to 14. Animal competitions will be held from November 12 to 14. Prize distribution ceremony will be held on November 15. The fair will conclude on November 17 with Margashirsha Dooj.

The religious fair will start from November 12. Ekadashi and Panchtirtha bath will take place on the same day while Kartik Purnima Mahasnaan will take place on November 15. Sadhus and saints from 13 akharas from across the country will gather in the religious fair. The maximum number of domestic tourists will also arrive during this time. Tourism officer Pradyumna Singh said that the tourism department will organize Shilpgram, cultural programs, sports competitions in the fair. A budget of Rs 70 lakh has been sought from the state government for this. During the fair, cricket matches, football, tug of war, Satoliya and Kabaddi matches are organized for domestic and foreign tourists. There will be competitions for decoration of camels and horses, dance etc. Many competitions like moustache, turban, groom-bride, rangoli, mandana are also a part of the fair for the tourists. Due to elections being held every five years, usually in the fourth or fifth year, the Pushkar cattle fair is affected by the implementation of the code of conduct. This time the fair will be full of life due to the postponement of the urban body elections to be held in November. Last year, due to the code of conduct of the assembly elections, sufficient budget could not be obtained for the fair. Public representatives also had to stay away from the fair. It is expected that this time the government will also provide sufficient budget for the arrangements of the fair.
