Tourism Ministry registers strong presence in three-day World Travel Market in London

The Ministry of Tourism here today informed that it is visiting the World Tourism Market with a delegation of around 50 stakeholders including State Governments, inbound tour operators, airlines, hoteliers from the Indian tourism industry to showcase India's vibrant cultural diversity, tourism products and immersive experiences. , taking part in London. This initiative is in line with India's strategic goal of promoting inbound tourism and establishing the country as a major global tourism destination.

The India Pavilion at the World Tourism Market, 2024 showcases the rich diversity of India's cultures, languages ​​and traditions, each of which contributes not only to its rich tourism landscape but also to the spiritual and wellness, wedding, adventure, ecotourism and It also offers a range of unique tourism experiences such as delicious food. The focus of this year's India Pavilion is MICE i.e. Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition Tourism (Meetings Industry or Events Industry), Mahakumbh and Wedding Tourism. A special mock mandap has been created in the mandap, which gives the look and feel of an Indian wedding.

Apart from the Union Tourism Ministry, many other stakeholders including State Tourism Departments, Tour Operators, Airlines, PSUs etc. are participating in the India Pavilion at WTM. Co-participants include Uttarakhand, Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir, Puducherry, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, tour operators and destination management companies, airlines, resorts and IRCTC. State Tourism Departments of Goa, Odisha, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are also participating in this World Tourism Market to showcase their unique tourism experiences and connect with potential customers and partners. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the 'Chalo India' initiative, aimed at involving the Indian diaspora in promoting India among their non-Indian friends. The Tourism Ministry has developed the Chalo India portal, where expatriates can register and inspire their non-Indian friends to visit India. Free tourist visas are also given as an incentive to foreign guests coming under the program. Through this initiative, NRIs will play an important role in promoting India as a major global tourist destination by showcasing India's rich heritage and diverse culture to the world. To implement this initiative on a large scale and in view of the UK being the second largest Indian expatriate community, the Ministry of Tourism is launching 'Chalo India' promotional campaign during WTM, London.

The Ministry of Tourism, among its other initiatives, has recently launched the 'Incredible India Content Hub and Digital Portal' on the revised Incredible India Digital Portal on World Tourism Day, 27 September 2024. The Incredible India Content Hub is a comprehensive digital repository for use by various stakeholders including government officials, ambassadors, tour operators, journalists, students, researchers, filmmakers, writers and content creators. The Incredible India Digital Portal is a tourist-centric one stop digital solution, designed to enhance the travel experience of tourists visiting India.
