Kanpur, 27 March (Hindustan Reporter). Necessary arrangements should be made for the total 26478 disabled voters identified in the district at all the polling stations as per their convenience and no less should be done in providing facilities to all the elderly voters at all the 3614 polling stations. This instruction was given by District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh in the meeting of DMCAE Committee in the new auditorium located at Sarsaiya Ghat on Wednesday.
He said that the Saksham app has been developed by the Election Commission of India to provide facilities to the disabled voters in the Lok Sabha General Election-2024. Disabled voters can download the Saksham App through the Play Store of their mobile phones to get their names included in the voter list and get information regarding the facilities provided at the polling station on the day of voting.
He said that various voluntary organizations working for all the disabled people and the District Disabled Officer should be motivated to provide information about the Saksham App to all the disabled people of the district. Along with this, all A.R.O. Make sure to get all the disabled voters mapped at the polling station in their respective constituencies through BLOs.
Out of all the 3614 booths in the district, in those booths in which not even a single disabled voter has been found, the disabled voters should be re-screened through BLOs and a certificate should be obtained from all the BLOs that the disabled voters will be re-screened at their polling station. Not a single disabled voter has been found. He has directed that all AROs should ensure that how many disabled voters are there in their assembly, from whom consent to vote through Postal Ballot Form 12D should be obtained.
Help of NCC, NSS and Scout volunteers should be taken at all the polling stations of the district. All AROs should ensure arrangements for ramps, electricity, toilets, drinking water, sheds etc. at all the polling stations of their respective constituencies. Similarly, disabled, elderly and all other voters can get information by calling 1950 control room, which is operated 24 hours a day, to get any information related to voting.
