Total 18 nominations till the fourth day of nomination for the seventh phase of elections


Ranchi, May 10 (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that till the fourth day of nomination for the seventh phase of elections, a total of 18 candidates filed nominations. In this, a total of three candidates filed nomination forms from Dumka (reserved for Scheduled Tribe) parliamentary constituency. So far, five people have filed nomination papers from Rajmahal (reserved for Scheduled Tribe) parliamentary constituency. So far 10 people have filed candidature forms from Godda parliamentary constituency.

The Chief Electoral Officer was addressing a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan, Dhurwa on Friday. He said that for the first time in Jharkhand, a third gender candidate from Dhanbad, Sunaina Kinnar, has filed nomination papers in the parliamentary elections. Ravi Kumar said that nomination work will not take place on May 11 as it is the third Saturday of the month. Also, nomination work remains closed every Sunday.

Ravi Kumar said that the election campaign for the fourth phase will stop from the evening of May 11. On May 12, candidates will be able to do door to door campaign. He informed that the process of deployment of security forces at the booths has started. In response to a question, he said that sufficient number of EVMs are available for voting work. Ravi Kumar said that since the release of election notification, the figure of seizure of illegal materials and cash in Jharkhand has reached 01 billion 14 crore 40 lakh.
