Paris, 30 October (HIST). Top seed Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the Paris Masters citing the virus.

Italian player Sinner said in a message sent by organizers on Tuesday that he would not be able to play this week.

“I came here to prepare very quickly, then I fell ill, I have a virus at the moment, which will get better in the next two-three days, so physically I am ready to compete,” Sinner said. I am not.”

Sinner is the second high-profile player to bow out of the final Masters 1000 event of the year, after seven-time champion Novak Djokovic. Sinner defeated Djokovic in straight sets in the final of the Shanghai Masters earlier this month, giving the Italian his seventh title of the season. Sinner became the first player to win more than six titles in a season, before Andy Murray won nine in 2016.
