Today, farmers of Phillaur area blocked the highway in Phillaur due to lack of government procurement of paddy in the mandis and problem of lifting. Due to which long queues of buses, trucks and cars were formed. Giving this information, farmer leaders Jarnail Singh Motipur, Kamaljit Singh said that the government is deliberately harassing the farmers. Farmers are sitting in the mandis with paddy, the said leaders said that if the problems of the farmers are not resolved soon, then the farmers will block the highway indefinitely. He also said that he had held a meeting with DC Jalandhar and other higher officials regarding this issue, but not a single word of ours was accepted. People faced a lot of problems due to the jam.
