Ahmedabad: The troubles of Rajya Sabha MP and national spokesperson of West Bengal's ruling party Trinamool Congress, Saket Gokhale, have increased as charges have been framed against him in a village court in Ahmedabad.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has given this information by posting a post on its official X handle. Crowd funding was raised by Saket Gokhale by running a campaign on social media. The TMC leader spent the huge amount raised in this way on his personal expenses including the stock market. A donor from Gujarat had filed a complaint against Saket Gokhale for misappropriation of funds. After which the ED has registered a case against Saket Gokhale under PMLA.
It is worth noting that earlier, Lakshmi Puri, wife of Union Minister Hardeep Puri, had also paid Rs. 50 lakhs to file a defamation suit. In a hearing held in the Delhi High Court in July, Saket Gokhale was also ordered to pay Rs 50 lakhs. In fact, at that time Saket Gokhale had made false claims in several of his tweets and accused Lakshmi Puri of damaging his reputation.
