Former Indian team spinner and Mumbai Indians spinner Harbhajan Singh has given a statement regarding the ongoing captaincy dispute in Mumbai Indians. This season, Rohit Sharma will be seen playing for Mumbai under a different captaincy for the first time since 2013. The franchise has removed Rohit and appointed Hardik Pandya as the captain.
Before the IPL 2024 auction, Hardik was traded by Mumbai to Gujarat Titans. Since then, rumors of possible rift between Rohit and him have been going on. Now Harbhajan has shared his views on the equation between Rohit and Hardik. Bhajji said in an interview, 'Time will tell who is happy and who is not, Mumbai Indians has been a strong and fearless team in the IPL. I am sure they will leave the controversies behind and find solutions for the future.
Rohit is the most successful captain in the history of IPL along with MS Dhoni. It has given MI five titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020).
Recently in an event, when Hardik was asked whether he got a chance to discuss the change of leadership with Rohit? The Indian all-rounder replied, 'I am on tour and hence I did not get much time to talk to Rohit. When he joins the team, I will definitely talk to him and will definitely become his mentor in the next season. Whatever this team has achieved, it has been achieved under his leadership and I want to take it forward.
On the anger of the fans, he said, 'I respect the opinion of the fans, but our focus is on the game and the trophy.'
Hardik Pandya will return to cricket from the next season of IPL. This all-rounder was injured during the ODI World Cup in October last year. Since then he is away from cricket. On Wednesday, the video of Rohit and Hardik hugging came out. Both came in front of each other and also talked to each other.
