'Time is changing', this Make-in-India SUV will run in Japan! First batch of 1,600 vehicles exported | News India

Speaking on the occasion, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. said, “I am very proud to announce that our 'Made-in-India' Frontex will soon be seen on the roads of Japan, the most premium and advanced automobile market in the world and I am confident that it will be well appreciated by the Japanese consumers.”

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has also praised Maruti Suzuki for this achievement. Piyush Goyal said in his post on social media, “Times are changing. It is indeed a proud moment as more than 1600 'Made in India' SUVs of Maruti Suzuki are being exported to Japan for the first time. In the last decade, the Modi government has implemented several policies to promote the Indian manufacturing industry to emphasize that world-class quality products have been produced locally, which has helped 'Brand India' become a globally recognized name.

How is Maruti Fronx?

Maruti Fronx was launched in the Indian market by the company during the Auto Expo last year. This SUV comes in a total of 6 variants, priced from Rs 7.51 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Fronx comes with two petrol engine options. Which includes 1.0 turbo-petrol and 1.2 petrol naturally aspirated engine.

The company claims that its 1.2 liter petrol variant gives a mileage of up to 21.79 km per liter. While its 1.0 liter turbo petrol manual variant gives a mileage of up to 21.5 km per liter and the automatic variant gives a mileage of up to 20.01 km per liter.

The company has decorated the interior of this SUV with a dual tone theme. Features like leather-wrapped steering wheel, chrome interior door handles, premium fabric seat belts, flat bottom steering, rear parcel tray, wireless charger, paddle shifters, cruise control, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs), keyless features are available.

Apart from this, the Delta variant gets adjustable driving seat, power windows, automatic climate control, HID AC vents for the rear row, while the Delta variant gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SmartPlay Pro infotainment system, voice assistant feature – over-the-air (OTA) updates, 4-speaker sound system, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and steering wheel-mounted controls are available.
