Sambhal Masjid controversy: There is an uproar regarding the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal. Last Sunday, the situation worsened so much that four youths died in the violence. Amidst this controversy, BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi has made a new claim regarding this royal Jama Masjid. Shalabh Mani Tripathi has claimed that before 2012 there was not Hari Mandir but Jama Masjid. Worship was also done in this. Hindu families also used to come here to perform marriage ceremonies. The puja here was stopped due to pressure from former Sambhal MP Shafiqur Rahman Burke.

While sharing four pictures on the social media platform, Shalabh Mani wrote that till 2012 i.e. before the SP government, worship was done in Hari Mandir. Wedding rituals were performed here, photographs of which are also available. The puja was stopped under the pressure of Shafiqur Rahman Burke, MP in the SP government. Hari Mandir was completely converted into Jama Masjid.

After the claim of BJP leader, once again a new debate has started on social media regarding Shahi Jasjid and Hari Mandir. On Friday itself, the Supreme Court has stayed the hearing of the petition filed in the civil court regarding this temple and any further action. Along with this, the UP government has been ordered to maintain peace here.
