Tight security in Virar's Jeevdani temple on the occasion of Navratri | News India

Mumbai: With the countdown to Navratri festival remaining, the state anti-terrorism team has reviewed the security of the famous Jeevdani temple in Virar from a security point of view. Keeping in mind that there should be no disturbance of any kind, the security arrangements of the temple have been tightened. Along with this, the temple will also be monitored with more than 150 CCTV cameras along with Sash Police. Lakhs of devotees visit Jeevdani temple every day during Navratri.

The famous Jeevdani Temple in Varar-East is known as a place of worship for devotees all over Maharashtra. During the Navratri festival, a large number of devotees come to the Jivadani temple to have darshan of Mataji. For this, the temple administration has completed all preparations from security point of view. As part of security arrangements, 150 CCTV cameras have been installed in the temple premises and through this the security will be monitored. Regarding this, the temple trustees said that Sash police will be deployed in the temple area to prevent any accident. The state anti-terrorism squad has also visited the temple premises to see the security arrangements and a plan has been prepared for the security arrangements keeping in mind the possibility of any accident.

Lakhs of devotees visit the temple during the nine days of Navratri festival and crowd control becomes necessary. To control the crowd of devotees, more than 200 NCC students of Viva College will handle the security arrangements along with the local Sash police. Around 50,000 devotees are expected to visit the fort on the first day of Navratri. The crowd is likely to reach lakhs on the occasion of Navratri festival on coming Sunday. Regarding this, Trustee of Jeevdani Temple, Pradeep Tendolkar told Gujarat Samachar that 'Lakhs of people come on Navratri on Sunday and keeping this in mind, planning and security of the crowd has been done. Funicular is also being successfully tested at Jeevdani Temple.
