Ghaziabad, 14 December (HS). On Saturday, the police station cyber crime arrested a vicious thug who committed fraud in the name of share trading. He is educated till B.Tech and on the basis of his interrogation, the police have revealed the incidents of cyber fraud in four states. Police have also recovered the mobile phone used in the incident from his possession. Police say that the accused cheated the victim by transferring Rs 67,51,409 to different accounts from July 7 to 8.
Cyber police station in-charge Santosh Tiwari said that a person named Umesh Kumar had filed a report in the cyber police station on July 9 that he was added to the WhatsApp group HNI account on May 7 and by sending a link, he opened an account in the fake share trading app E-Tedders on the pretext of investment. From May 07 to July 08, a total of Rs 67 lakh 51 thousand 409 was defrauded by transferring it to different accounts.
He said that after investigation, the police on Friday arrested Devesh Kumar, resident of B-256 Saraswati Nagar police station, Bhagat ki Kothi, district Jodhpur, Rajasthan from Kotwali area Ghaziabad. With the arrest of the accused, a total of four incidents have come to light in four states: Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, Kolkata district of West Bengal, Cyberabad of Telangana and Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh.
Devesh Gaur told the police that he got involved in this work because he owed money to many people. He had sold his bank account to Chhail Singh Rathore. Chhail Singh Rathore had said that whatever money will come into the account, it will be distributed equally. Account passbook, check book and ATM were given to Chhail Singh. He used to give the messages and OTP related to transactions in my account to Chhail Singh Rathore. Chhail Singh Rathore had purchased jewelery worth Rs 1.88 lakh from Manohar Jewelers, Jodhpur in the name of Devesh Gaur and paid it from Devesh Gaur’s account. A video of Chhail Singh Rathore making a purchase has been received from the CCTV footage of the shop of Manohar Jewelers, Jodhpur. It has been learned that Chhail Singh Rathore has been involved in cyber crime for a long time and has escaped the custody of the police. Efforts are being made to arrest Chail Singh Rathore.
