Three youths from Madhya Pradesh were among the dead in the gas leak accident in Kutch's chemical factory.

Bhopal, 16 October (HS). Five employees died after inhaling poisonous gas at the chemical factory Agro Plant in Kandla, located in Kutch district of Gujarat. Among them were three youths from Gwalior Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh working in the factory. Under the supervision of Maheshchandra Choudhary, OSD of Madhya Pradesh government, the bodies of the three have been sent to their hometowns Bhind, Datia and Shivpuri. At the same time, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, expressing grief over the death of the three youths, has approved financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the victim's families.

Actually, the Agrotech plant produces edible oil, biodiesel, refined palm, soybean oil and vegetable ghee. The incident happened at 12.30 pm on Wednesday. Workers were cleaning the waste treatment plant at the time of the accident. An employee entered the tank to remove mud and became unconscious. When two other employees ran to save him, they also fainted. Two more employees followed him and all five people died. The dead include a supervisor and four labourers. Three of these laborers are residents of Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh government's OSD Maheshchandra Chaudhary said that among those who died in the accident is Amjad Khan, a resident of Alampur, Bhind. Amjad's younger brother Sharif Khan also works in Gujarat. Amjad was married three years ago. I had a daughter just a month ago. Whereas, the second deceased was working in Siddharth Tiwari factory of village Muria Saletra located in Bhander tehsil of Datia district for five years. Siddhartha was the eldest of three siblings and unmarried. The third deceased has been identified as Ashish Gupta, resident of Gangaura village in Shivpuri district. Ashish was working in Kutch for seven years. The post-mortem of the three deceased has been done in Gujarat. After post-mortem, the bodies of all three have been sent to their hometowns.
