It was a special time for three mothers to celebrate with their children after winning medals in rowing events at the Paris Olympics. Britain's veteran Helen Glover, New Zealand's Lucy Spurs and Brooke Francis won Olympic medals less than two years after giving birth.
The pair of Spurs and Francis won the gold medal in the women's double sculls. On the other hand, Glover, a mother of three, won the silver medal in the women's four event. After the victory, Spurs and Francis picked up their children sitting in the stadium. The two New Zealand sailors used to sing children's songs during practice to motivate each other during the difficult time of caring for their children. She brought her family to Paris so that she could focus on her campaign. Glover also breastfed her children during her practice. She also reached out to high five her children after completing her race. She hugged her children after the medal distribution. The three female athletes believe that our achievements will send a positive message to other athletes.
