Anuppur, June 27 (HS). Cases of coal theft and smuggling are constantly coming to light in Koyalanchal. On the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, Kotma police seized three trucks on suspicion of coal theft. All the three trucks were parked at the police station and a case has been registered under Sections 379, 41, 1, 4.
Kotma police station in-charge Sundresh Marawi said that three trucks loaded with coal were going towards Bijuri from Rampur Khara mine. On receiving information, the police stopped the vehicles near National Highway 43 Manmari and demanded transport related documents from the drivers. When the TP was found to be expired and had other flaws, the coal was considered suspicious and action for theft was taken. The vehicle was truck Hiva number CG 12 BL 6250 which was loaded with 40 tonnes of coal. Whose driver is 30-year-old Dinesh Vishwkarma, son of Rajkaran, resident of Bamani, police station Churhat, district Sidhi; vehicle number CG 12 BIL 6251, driver is 30-year-old Upendra Kumar, resident of Marda, district Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh; and vehicle number CG 12 BL 6240 also had 40 tonnes of coal. Action is being taken against whose driver is 22-year-old Aman Naveed, son of Suryanarayan Kewat, resident of Bahri, police station Churhat, district Sidhi, by registering a case under sections 4,1, 4, and 379 of the IPC. The total estimated cost of the seized truck and coal is said to be 1 crore 25 lakhs. There was a lot of heat in the police station all day long regarding this. Sub-inspector D.S. Bagdi, Brijesh Pandey, Vivek Pandey and others were involved in the action.
