On Monday, terrorists targeted an army ambulance and opened fire in Battal of Akhnoor Upazila in the district, after which an encounter took place during a search operation, in which security forces killed three terrorists. Security forces are currently continuing the search operation in the area.
According to the information, at around 7 am today, three terrorists attacked an army ambulance. Three terrorists sitting in ambush near the Shiva temple in Battal village of Akhnoor opened fire on the army vehicle. After this a large-scale search operation started in the area. During the search operation, an encounter took place between the terrorists and the security forces, in which three terrorists were killed. Along with the dead bodies of the terrorists, arms and ammunition have also been recovered.
It is being told that the terrorists had taken shelter in the darkness of the night in a Shiva temple built in Kerry Battal area of Akhnoor sector of the international border with Pakistan. All three terrorists were in army uniform and were armed with weapons. It is believed that the terrorists had infiltrated from across the border and entered the Indian border. Around 06:30 am on Monday morning, when three children of the village were going to study tuition after paying obeisance at the Shiva temple as usual, they were stopped by the terrorists hiding in the temple.
When the terrorists asked the children for the phone, the children refused. He said that he did not have a mobile phone, on which the terrorists beat him up. After this one pointed a gun at them and asked them to run away from the temple. These three terrorists were also seen by a master running a tuition centre. He told that he was at the gate of the temple. When he saw the terrorists he went back.
