Three teenage girls including two real sisters died due to drowning in Renuka river

Sonbhadra, 04 November (HS). Three teenage girls, including two real sisters, died due to drowning in deep water while bathing in Renuka river in Chopan police station area on Monday afternoon. Police recovered the bodies of all three with the help of divers.

Kedar's daughter Sarita (10), Sunita (12) and Shyam Lal's daughter Usha (15), resident of Bardiya village, along with Kajal, daughter of Babunder of the same village, were grazing cattle near Renuka river. The four girls went to the river to take a bath. While bathing, Sarita, Sunita, Usha drowned in deep water, while Kajal came out of the water. After the incident, Kajal reached the village running and informed the family members.

After the information, police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot and immediately started relief work. A large crowd of villagers remained present at the spot during the search. SDM Obra Vivek Kumar informed the SDRF team regarding the incident and made them aware of the matter.
