Three IPS officers have been punished because of an actress in Andhra Pradesh. The government suspended three senior IPS officers of the state on Sunday. According to the information, a DG rank officer is also included among these suspended officers. The government took this action for arresting an actress without proper investigation in a case registered against her. The government issued separate orders and suspended all three officers.
IPS officers accused of harassing actress
According to reports, the suspended IPS officers were accused of not properly investigating the case registered against Mumbai actress and model Kadambari Jethani and arresting her in haste. The officers have also been accused of harassing the actress.
3 officers suspended
According to the government order, former intelligence chief P. Sitaram Anjaneyulu (Director General rank), former Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata (Inspector General rank) and then Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vijayawada) Vishal Gunni (Superintendent of Police rank) have been appointed. A case has been registered for alleged harassment of the actress.
What is the whole matter?
Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethani filed a formal complaint against NTR Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekhar Babu in August. In the complaint, she said that YSR Congress Party leader and filmmaker Vidyasagar had filed a case of forgery and extortion against her in February. The actress alleged that top police officials along with Vidyasagar harassed her and her parents and arrested them and took them from Mumbai to Vijayawada without any prior notice.
The actress's family had to remain in judicial custody for more than 40 days
The actress said that the police humiliated and illegally detained her and her elderly parents. Due to which her family had to remain in judicial custody for more than 40 days. The actress's lawyer N. Srinivas alleged that Vidyasagar obtained fake documents to implicate Jethani and his family and the police did not allow them to file a bail plea for several days.
Actress accused of threatening
According to the Mumbai actress, during the previous government, police officials had threatened her. The officials told the actress that if she did not withdraw the case filed against a top official of the corporation in Mumbai, the result would not be good and she would have to face serious consequences. The actress has accused the officials of threatening her.
Arrest order was given even before case was registered
When the YSR Congress government was in power in the state, the actress was arrested on the basis of a complaint by a party leader. In which she was accused of fraud. It is alleged that the then intelligence chief had issued instructions to two other officers to arrest the actress. However, no crime was registered against her till that day. According to the government order, the FIR against the actress was registered at 6:30 am on February 2. Whereas Anjaneyulu had informed Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni about the arrest on January 31 before filing the FIR.
