Deoria, 22 July (HS). Three people including two elderly people died by drowning after falling into a water filled pit in Deoria on Monday. This was confirmed by the police of different police stations. The police have sent all the three bodies for postmortem after completing the Panchnama proceedings.
In the first incident, the body of Shravan Bean (68), a resident of Balua Afghan in Bhatni police station area, was found. Seeing the body floating in a pit in the village, the villagers informed the police. On the other hand, the body of Preeti Chauhan (17), a resident of Kolgarha Nonia Tola in Surouli police station area, was found lying in the pit. On receiving the information, the police took legal action, identified the body and sent it for post-mortem.
In the third incident, the body of Harihar Yadav (64), a resident of Parsiya in Gauri Bazar police station area, was found in a ditch in the same village. Police retrieved the body and with the help of villagers sent it for postmortem. Police are starting an investigation into the case on suspicion of murder.
