Gumla, July 8 (HS). Three members of a family died due to krait snake bite in Lotwa Dugdugi village of Dahupani Panchayat under Palkot block of Gumla district. Rajesh Kisan (35), his wife Sunita Devi (30) and brother Manoj Kisan (32) died due to the bite of the poisonous krait snake. All three were sleeping when the snake bit all of them. There is no road in the village. Vehicles also do not run. Therefore, the three could not be taken to the hospital on Sunday night. The family members kept getting them exorcised in the village itself. All three were taken to the hospital on Monday morning.
When there was no improvement in the condition, all three were brought to the hospital on Monday morning. All three died during treatment here. Poison had spread in the bodies of all three. Doctors said that if all three had been taken to the hospital on Sunday night itself, their lives could have been saved.
Rajesh Kisan and his wife Sunita Devi died as soon as they were admitted to Palkot hospital. The doctor declared both of them dead. Manoj Kisan was being brought to Gumla hospital in 108 ambulance. He also died on the way. The death of three members of the same family brought mourning in the village. No stove was lit in anyone's house on Monday.
It is said that on Sunday all the people of the house had gone to see the fair. After returning home in the evening, they ate food and slept in the verandah. Then the snake bit three people. Hearing the sound, other members of the house got up and caught the snake. After this, the three were treated by exorcism in the village itself. On Monday morning, the family members took the three along with the krait snake to the hospital.
