Haridwar, November 01 (HS). Taking seriously the incident of sudden collapse of an under-construction bridge in Roorkee yesterday, the government has constituted a committee for investigation, which will submit its report within a week.
This bridge was being built to provide convenience to local residents and Kanwariyas during the Kavad Yatra. After the announcement by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the construction work of the iron bridge was to be completed by the month of February 2025. Due to the collapse of the bridge, questions are being raised on the functioning of the construction organization.
In this case, the officials are not saying that the reason for the collapse of the bridge was negligence but the sudden strong flow of water released into the Ganga. However, before releasing water into the Ganga, an alert is sent to all the cities. However, Public Works Department Secretary Pankaj Pandey has constituted a three-member committee regarding this entire matter. This committee will investigate this entire matter. Chief Engineer, Public Works Department, Dehradun has been made the chairman of the committee. Gopeshwar and two other officers from Dehradun have been made its members. This three-member team will submit the report of the bridge collapse to the government within seven days.
