Ballia, July 10 (HS). The three-day state level chess competition was inaugurated in the premises of Sunbeam School on Wednesday by the chief guest District Magistrate Praveen Kumar Lakshkar by lighting a lamp on the Tulsi altar.
The District Magistrate said that if education elevates life, then sports disciplines life. Sports is a medium through which both physical and mental development takes place. Explaining the importance of chess, the chief guest said that chess is a game which increases our thinking and understanding power. It sharpens the memory and keeps the brain stable. It also develops the power of problem solving. During this, a cultural program was presented by the students of the school.
This state level competition is being organized in Under 15 Boys and Girls category and Open Boys and Girls category. In which about 200 players from the whole state have participated. International orbiters Hemant Sharma, Anand Singh, Aditya Kumar Dubey and Omkar Singh from Lucknow will play an important role as orbiters in the competition. Before this, the school director and principal Dr. Arpita Singh welcomed all the orbiters by giving them a bouquet and a memento.
Announcing the prizes, school director Dr. Kunwar Arun Singh said that along with the medal trophy, the successful players will also be given cash prizes as well as the top five players. During this, BSA Manish Singh, District Chess Organization President Devendra Singh, Vice President Upendra Singh, Secretary Umesh Singh and Utkarsh Sahitya Manch State President Dr. Rajesh Singh were mainly present. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Ashish Gupta, Tarun Saxena, Kamal Yadav, Rajesh, Abu Saeed, Kumari Babita, Preeti Gupta, Priya, Santosh Kumar Chaturvedi, Shahar Bano and Neetu Pandey played an important role in organizing the program.
