Three associates of terrorists arrested from Anantnag, arms and ammunition recovered | News India

Anantnag, August 27 (HS). Security forces have arrested three associates of terrorists from Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from their possession. Police gave this information on Tuesday.

In a joint operation, police, CRPF and army on Monday set up a check post at Wopjan tri-junction in Anantnag district and arrested the suspects, a police official said. He said a pistol, two magazines, 23 rounds and two grenades were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects.

They have been identified as Umik Mushtaq Zargar, Ishfaq Ahmad Dar and Shahid Ahmad Gadhanji, the official said. He said preliminary investigation indicated that the three were planning subversive activities in and around Anantnag district under the instructions of LeT handlers. He said a case has been registered under Arms Act and UAPA Act at police station Bijbehara. The spokesperson said further investigation is underway.
