Kanpur, March 14 (HS). Police of Chamanganj police station arrested three youths on Thursday while revealing the firing incident that took place in Mo. Ali Park on Wednesday night. Two pistols and cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. Police say that a dispute has arisen over two young men talking to the same girl.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Central RS Gautam said that among the arrested accused are Munna alias Adnan and Farhan, residents of Ghosiana of Chamanganj police station area and Osma, resident of Asif Hussain Hata of the same police station area. Two pistols and 315 bore cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Hatif, resident of Colonelganj, and Taha, resident of Plot No. 4, Chamanganj, both used to talk to the same girl on phone. Both the parties were gathered at Mohammad Ali Park on Wednesday night to talk to the girl. During the conversation, both the parties clashed and ran away while firing in the dark. However, after receiving information about the firing, the police team arrived and after investigation, registered a case against unknown assailants under various sections including murderous assault and were searching for the suspects.
On the basis of CCTV footage obtained from the spot, the arrested accused were identified and the police teams caught them today, took legal action and sent them to jail after presenting them in the court and the search for other absconding suspects is going on.
