Ranchi, 21 August (HS). Ranchi's Budhmu police station has arrested three active members of the banned Naxalite organization Third Conference Presentation Committee (TSPC) commander Diwakar Ganjhu alias Pratap Dasta with weapons. The arrested Naxalites include Prakash Ganjhu, Rahul Lahri and Monu Kumar Badaik. A country-made carbine, a magazine, two bikes, 11 pieces of Naxalite pamphlets, four bullet pouches, four mobile phones and a misfire bullet have been recovered from them.

Rural SP Sumit Agarwal told in a press conference on Wednesday that secret information was received that five active members of TSPC commander Diwakar Ganjhu alias Pratap Dasta have gathered near the deserted place of the closed CCL quarter in Chhapar village located on the border of Barkagaon, Keredari and Budhmu police station on the banks of Damodar river, who are planning to extort ransom and carry out some major incident.

After the information, a special raid team was formed under the leadership of Khalari DSP. The team raided the said place. On seeing the police force, the TSPC squad members tried to run away. But the police team caught three. While two Naxalites managed to escape taking advantage of the forest area. Weapons have been recovered from the arrested Naxalites. The arrested TSPC Naxalites told that in March 2024, in Patra sand yard of Barkagaon police station area, along with Diwakar Ganjhu, they had fired for levy collection for the organization and stopped the work. About two months ago, at Chhapar sand ghat, they had beaten up the Alok group separated from the TSPC organization and collected extortion from the sand ghat. In July 2024, in order to collect levy from the company engaged in road construction work between Urimari to Taraswar under Barkagaon police station, they had fired and stopped the work. Due to non-payment of levy in road construction work in Bhurkunda area, they were planning to go to Chhapar to stop the road construction work, when suddenly the police came and they were caught.
