The deceased MP Anar was an MP from Bangladesh's Zenaideh-4 parliamentary seat and was also the president of the Kaliganj unit of the Awami League. He came to Kolkata for treatment on May 12, but went missing on May 13. Based on the investigation, Kolkata Police said that the Bangladeshi MP was first strangled to death and then his body was cut into pieces and thrown at different places. The body of Anwarul Azim Anar has not been found yet. Bangladesh Police arrested three suspects from Dhaka in connection with the murder, who have been identified as Tanvir, Shimul Bhuya, Silisti Rahman.

The plan to murder the MP was made three months ago

Bangladesh Police said that Bhuiya Purbo is a leader of Bangladesh Communist Party and he had made a fake passport in the name of Amanullah. He reached Kolkata with this passport. The plan to kill Azim Anar was made two-three months ago and its mastermind is said to be the MP's friend, Bangladeshi American citizen Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen. After the murder, Shahi fled to America via Nepal. Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen had given a contract of Rs 5 crore to the killers to kill Zameer Anar. Kolkata Police has arrested a Bangladeshi citizen from North-24 Parganas district in connection with the murder of Bangladeshi MP. He is a butcher by profession and is believed to be involved in the murder of Anar as well.
