Now let's talk about what these Sky Marshals are. There is a unit of NSG which mainly deploys Sky Marshals on international routes and sensitive domestic routes. Sky marshals are armed plainclothes security officers who travel on passenger aircraft. Let us tell you that Sky Marshal or Flight Marshal was introduced in India in 1999 after the hijacking of Air India Flight IC 814 in Kandahar to prevent future hijacking incidents.
