Till now thousands of Kanwariyas have come through Moradabad's Delhi Road and Kanth Road (Haridwar Highway) to perform Jalabhishek on Friday on Shivratri (Shivteras) of the month of Sawan. All are entering the city waving the tricolor with the chants of Har Har Mahadev and Bam Bam Bhole. Shiv devotees are bringing Gangajal from Brajghat (Garhmukteshwar) on Delhi Road and from Haridwar on Kanth Road. At the same time, devotees carrying Dak Kanwad are leaving for Brajghat.
Like every Monday of the month of Sawan, on Trayodashi, worshipping Baba Kameshwar Nath and offering water to the Shiv family is of great importance. Every year in the month of Shravan, Shiv devotees from all the districts of Moradabad and Bareilly division bring Ganga water in their Kanwad from Haridwar and Brajghat (Garhmukteshwar). They fulfill their resolution by offering water to the Shiv family as per the rituals. President of Moradabad Kanwad Mahasangh, Pandit Ashish Chandra Trivedi said that on the holy festival of Shiv Teras on Friday, more than 50 thousand Kanwads will be offered in temples in Moradabad district.
