New Delhi: According to the Meteorological Department, this year the monsoon will be good in the country. There is a possibility of 106 percent rainfall on an average. The southern states will receive slightly more rainfall than the average, but there is no possibility of much relief from the heat in June. The heat wave will continue in the month of June as well. The only relief in the midst of the heat is that the monsoon will start in Kerala in the next five days and the weather will become favorable for rain.
Meteorological Department chief Mrityunjay Mahopatra gave a report on this year's monsoon in a virtual press conference. According to him, this year the monsoon will be good in most states of the country. Rain will be favorable for farming. Some time ago, the forecast of the Meteorological Department had increased the concern of the farmers. At that time, the report given after the study of the atmosphere said that this year there will be slightly less rainfall than the average. However, according to the latest report, this year there will be 106 percent rainfall during the monsoon in the country.
The north-eastern states will receive slightly less rain than the average, but not so much that it affects farming. The southern and central Indian states will receive slightly more rain than the average, but not as heavy as predicted. The average rainfall may increase by two to four inches. The average rainfall will remain the same in the north-western states. An average of 6 to 6.5 inches of rain is expected in the country in the month of June. This much rain will be beneficial for the farmers. Rainfall of more than five inches is considered favorable for sowing.
However, despite so much rain, there will not be much relief from the heat in June. According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave will prevail in many states in the month of June. Especially in the northwestern states like Delhi, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Gujarat, there will be heat even in the month of June. The temperature will continue to fluctuate in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Madhya Pradesh, so there will not be complete relief from the heat during June. Explaining the reason for this, the head of the Meteorological Department said that at present five western disturbances are active, two of these will affect North India and hence the weather will change.
Meanwhile, severe heat was felt across the country as the temperature increased. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature was recorded above 45 in many cities of the country. Phalodi in Rajasthan remained the hottest place for the second day with 49.4 degrees. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat experienced unbearable heat. The Meteorological Department had issued a red alert in these states. The head of the Meteorological Department said that the people of North, West India have been facing unprecedented heat for the last one week.
A sadhu who was performing rigorous penance by blowing smoke in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, died of heat stroke. This 70-year-old sadhu, famous as Pagal Baba, was doing penance for the last three days. His Panchagni tapasya was to continue for five days. He got permission from the district officer of Sambhal for this penance. His health suddenly deteriorated and he died before he could be taken to the hospital. Due to unbearable heat in Rajasthan, two people including BSF jawan Ajay Kumar posted on the Pakistan border died. A total of three people lost their lives due to heat.
