Telugu film actress Hema's troubles have increased after she attended a rave party in Bangalore. Hema tested positive in the drug test. According to the police, many models and tech professionals were also present in this party. 17 MDMA pills and other drugs including cocaine were found in the farmhouse. More than 100 people from Andhra Pradesh and Bangalore participated in it, including more than 25 girls. Eight people including Hema have been issued notices and asked to appear. Whoever is found guilty of consuming or selling drugs will be given severe punishment.
Rave party raided in Bengaluru
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has raided a rave party going on at a farm house in Bengaluru and seized ecstasy pills, cocaine and other drugs. It is being told that the party was going on at the farm house from 5 pm on May 18 to 6 am on May 19. It was organized by Hyderabad resident Vasu on the occasion of his birthday. According to an estimate, more than Rs 50 lakh would have been spent on this party in a day. An FIR has been registered in this case at the Electronic City police station.
Telugu film actress tests positive
The investigation also revealed that the party was attended by well-known DJs, models, actors and actresses and people from the technical world. One name that surprised everyone was that of Telugu film actress Hema. She was also present at the party. She was tested positive for drugs during the raid. Although Hema has sought time to appear before the anti-narcotics branch of the Central Crime Branch (CCB), she may be booked under Section 2 and the NDPS Act.
Action should be taken under the NDPS Act
According to Section 2 of the Indian Penal Code, every person within India who does any act contrary to the provisions of this Code shall be guilty of a criminal offence. Will he be punishable under this Code or not? As far as the punishment for consumption and supply of narcotics in rave parties is concerned, it is dealt with under the NDPS Act i.e. Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Under this Act, drug users are prosecuted, under which recently YouTuber Elvish Yadav was prosecuted for supplying snake venom at a rave party. The NDPS Act was implemented in the country in the year 1985. It was made to prevent all types of drug addiction in the country. The Narcotics Control Bureau was established in 1986, a year after the Act came into force.
There is a provision for punishment under this Act
In the NDPS Act (27A), the punishment is decided on the basis of the type and quantity of the drug. That is, different provisions have been made under this law regarding the punishment of the guilty person. Under the law, those arrested get bail who are accused of drug consumption only. This bail is given only if the person is not involved in any kind of drug trade. There is a provision of one year imprisonment and fine for taking drugs in small quantities. If a person is involved in the drug trade, he can be sentenced to 10 to 20 years in jail. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 2 lakh can also be imposed on them. Elvish Yadav can also get a similar punishment.
Under the NDPS Act, bail is granted only to those who are intoxicated. Others may face long sentences and fines. If cocaine, morphine or any other narcotic substance is consumed, it can lead to imprisonment of up to one year or fine of up to twenty thousand rupees or both. Consumption of some other narcotic substances can lead to imprisonment of up to six months or fine of up to 10,000 rupees or both.
