Hamirpur, 27 July (HS). There will not be a bumper production of moong in Bundelkhand this time. Compared to last year, the area under moong cultivation has increased by about five percent hectares. This time the maximum cultivation of moong will be done in Bundelkhand's Veerbhoomi Mahoba, whose sowing has already been done in most of the areas.

The scope of moong cultivation is continuously increasing in Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot and all the surrounding areas of Bundelkhand. Farmers gave priority to moong cultivation among Kharif crops, therefore the government has increased the area of ​​its cultivation this year. For the past several years, the area of ​​its cultivation is increasing rapidly here. Last year, the government had given the target of cultivating moong in more than fourteen thousand hectares, but moong was produced in more hectares than the target. In all the districts of Chitrakoot Dham Banda division of Bundelkhand, moong crop was produced more than the department's target.

Deputy Director Agriculture of Hamirpur, Harishankar Bhargav told that this year, in Kharif crops, moong cultivation is being done in about twenty thousand hectares in Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda and Chitrakoot districts of the division. For this, farmers have also sown moong in the fields. He told that last year moong was sown in an area of ​​​​more than fourteen thousand hectares in the division. The Deputy Director told that this year the graph of moong cultivation has increased a lot compared to the last Kharif season. He told that after a long time, this year in Hamirpur district alone, preparations are being made to produce Kharif crops in one and a quarter lakh hectares.

Moong cultivation will be done in twenty thousand hectares in Bundelkhand region

Deputy Director of Agriculture Harishankar Bhargava said that this time in Hamirpur, moong is being cultivated in about twenty thousand hectares of land. In Mahoba, moong will be cultivated in more than ten thousand hectares of land. In Banda of Bundelkhand, moong has been sown in more than twenty seven hundred hectares of land, while in Chitrakoot, farmers are cultivating moong in the least area of ​​about twenty two hundred hectares this year.

Hamirpur of Bundelkhand came second in moong cultivation

Hamirpur of Bundelkhand region was once on the first position in the production of moong but this year it has come to the second position. Deputy Director Agriculture told that Mahoba district in Bundelkhand's Chitrakoot Dham Banda division is on the first position in the production of moong crop. Here farmers are sowing moong in more than ten and a half thousand hectares of area. He told that the religious city Chitrakoot area is on the fourth position in the cultivation of moong in the division.
