This South African fast bowler will not be able to play in IPL 2024, entry of star batsman in Delhi Capitals

South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has been injured and will not be able to play in IPL 2024. Delhi Capitals has included Australian batsman Jack Fraser McGurk in the team in his place. Lungi Ngidi has played 14 IPL matches and has 25 wickets to his name. Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of IPL 2024 due to a lower back injury.

Lungi Ngidi is the second Delhi Capitals player to be dropped ahead of the new IPL season. Earlier, Harry Brook had also withdrawn his name. Harry Brook is fit but has decided to withdraw from the tournament due to personal reasons. Proteas fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has been released by Delhi Capitals for IPL 2024, Cricket South Africa said in a statement issued on Friday. He is recovering from a lower back injury.

Star batsman's entry in Delhi Capitals

Lungi Ngidi, 27, suffered the injury during the SA20 playoffs last month. Lungi Ngidi is currently under the care of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) medical team and is undergoing rehabilitation with his team Momentum Multiply Titans. Lungi Ngidi is expected to return to play in the second half of the CSA T20 Challenge. Jack Fraser-McGurk has played two ODI matches for Australia. He joined Delhi at a base price of Rs 50 lakh. Fraser-McGurk represented Dubai Capitals, the DC franchise, in the ILT20 2024 and made his mark in the team with stellar performances.
